If a community has a desire to improve itself and presents a realistic and workable proposal to do so, what is the problem? Except for government complacency and corruption, racial prejudice, self-centered citizens - have some honor, take some pride, and do the Christian thing, even if you're not a Christian - help get this theater up and running.

As a longtime professional Boston theater artist I am so supportive of this plan!! There are not enough spaces to (affordably) house all of the work that artists are creating - especially with the closing of the Factory theater - and this space is so underutilized with great potential. I would love to get more involved if I can!!

When i worked with the Boston Ballet, we performed at the Strand Theater once a year. It is a wonderful space! It deserves so much more attention than it gets. It would be a wonderful opportunity to bring more art to a new neighborhood!

I coordinated a program in the smaller gallery space for Black History Month a few years ago. The space was great. It would probably make a good space for smaller performances like poetry slams, community dialogues, etc. But there is no door to block the sound from that space to the larger theatre. So it was incredibly noisy. A solution could be to put noise cancelling doors in some of the existing spaces. The upstairs and downstairs galleries are great places to start.
