Art and culture needs preservation AND adaptation. Simply because the location happens to be situated where there's the highest concentration of minorities does not mean (a) you should abandon the theater or (b) you should try to evict the local African American community.

Yes the theater needs improving. A beautiful theater and it is not represented well because it is a black community. So much could be done for the theater. But it is sabotaged by rich white folks and politians. Stop hating

This is a brilliant idea — well thought out & conceptually solid. KEEP THE STRAND! A BlackBox theatre offers flexibility for various performances — plays, dance, improv, spoken word — at a scale that can be supported by the community. Uphams Corner is up and coming, but we should support the community that has been there for years. GO STRAND!!

Because having a Black Box Theatre when I moved to NY gave me great opportunities to play shows for my friends and started me off on my love for performing music. Shout out to Marshfield my hometown
