XXX Birlinn: please re-print "The Lowland Clearances"!

I have a copy of this excellent book on lowland clearances and have often recommended it to people who consider the clearances in the highlands as Scotland's only rural upheaval.

I read this book a couple of years ago, borrowing it from the library; I think it is important that it should be easily and widely available, which would be best achieved via re-printing

This is an important story in the life of our nation which deserves to be much better and widely known.

My people were of the Highland Clearances, my Lowland friends know all about it but nothing of the Lowland Clearances. They all should.

Please do bring out a new printing of this important book.

I have a copy and others should have the chance to own and read it.

We need this information available to those who can't afford £250 for a book

This may have been Scotland's "silent" revolution, but by reprinting the book, Birlinn will help to bring its name to the fore once again.

We need this book back in circulation

The history of our country should be available for all to read, especially now when we should be aware how we are being treated by our "masters" in Westminster.

It's important that Scottish history is publicised and not hidden away as if it was something to be ashamed of.

Such an important part of our history, yet so little known. This needs to change.

I was moved to see this petition and its subject. I'm from Wigtownshire originally and so much of our history in the South of Scotland is forgotten or ignored. It's about time Scotland started to explore and learn its rich history proper from all corners of the land and maybe then we can break away from being force-fed the pop-up Establishment guff that seems to be written for the benefit of tourists rather than the natives. Wake up Scotland! Please reprint this book.

I would buy it!

My maiden names is Galloway and I assume that it is possible that my father's ancestors were cottars cleared from Galloway. This book should be in print and the subject given a higher profile.

Great book. A must read for all Scots.
