Billy Holmquist Support Petition

I've been in the film industry for 32 years, and have worked aside Billy for 25 years. He is one of the safest coordinators I've ever had the privilege of working with. He has built a New Mexico based crew that follow him from show to show, and trust in his abilities and knowledge for keeping people employed, happy and of course safe on the job. To deny he and his crew to continue to work for/with Netflix would have a huge impact on local crew and productions.

Bill is an asset to netflix and New Mexico film..

I have known and worked with Bill here in New Mexico for over a decade. As a member of the Art Department myself, Bill has always shown himself to be a true professional and talented collaborator on ever project I have had the pleasure to work with him on. He should be able to be considered for any film project on any Netflix show!

Mr. Holmquist has proven to be a great asset to our union and has kept many of us employed when jobs were scarce.

I know there were problems regarding safety on one of the productions regarding safety, but I do believe things could and should have been handled much differently. There is a desperate need for more education availability in regards to safety and compliance, but no one need be punished unless they totally disregard and ignore the issue of safety altogether.

Billy Holmquist is a very good asset to 480 and have shown professionalism . He has served the local 480 community by helping expand the working talent we now have . With his leadership he can contribute more to the growing needs of the film Industry in New Mexico It would be a shame to loose his services

I am signing this petition with great hopes that our good friend and colleague Billy Holmquist be immediately granted permission to resume work at Netflix studios. Over the years Billy has been a loyal and steadfast employer of hundreds of local 480 men and women, and the entire state suffers from the unfair treatment of our friend Billy Holmquist.

I worked side-by-side with Bill Holmquist for nearly 7 years and he has always done right by the people he hires. His ability to do his job is beyond any other coordinator that I’ve seen both on the ground with Propmakers and in the art department with the folks above the line. He needs us and we need him. Please do the right thing.

One of the best Coordinators if not the best in the state look at all the movies or shows that he has coordinated Netflix needs to bring him back!!Come on now!

I think if the studio is making fall protection a requirement they should host a class at the beginning of a show. Our union should also provide a class just like a lift certification or a safety class. We all have to take an HR class at the beginning of every show because it’s required. Since the union will not offer a class for fall protection the studio should have an online class if that is required also. I have been working in film steady for almost 27 years and I have never seen a class offered for fall protection. Billy is know for running a tight ship when it comes to safety and meeting certification requirements. I can guarantee if anyone working for Netflix knew this is a requirement we would all be certified. Billy should not be held accountable for a certification that has never been offered by any studio nor through the union. Thank you for your time.

I have the privilege to work with Mr Holmquist on several shows, I work with a completely different crew, Steve Brown, but yet when I am out of work Mr. Holmquist always has work for us locals, He has helped our union tremendously keeping fellow union members working, with all respect Mr. Holmquist is a great coordinator

Billy is great.

Bill is the best man for any construction job, he is knowledgeable as well as motivational without being offensive

I've worked with Billy and his crew on multiple shows and he has always shown a sense of respect to all crew and departments. He's been insistent on crew safety even through ever-growing difficult schedules and production demands. He makes sure his crew is well equipped with the proper tools, machinery, and safety gear, including visibility and cold weather protection. His history of providing safe environments, both mentally and physically, constant respect for crew and other departments, and his long list of incredible set builds are among the things why art departments and productions love working with him
