The Abducted Child's Bill
of Rights We, the members of Take Root, do solemnly claim
the following rights on behalf of all abducted children and ask others to
ratify this Bill by pledging to uphold these rights:
The right to be found
The right to be in a physically and psychologically
safe environment
The right to be seen and to be heard
The right to have our searching family be prepared
and equipped with resources when we are found
The right to be able to bring our personal
belongings with us
The right to competent mental health care
The right to a respectful recovery process that
allows for transition and time to acclimate if needed
The right to our own legal advocate in the court
system
The right to have an appropriate level of control
over our own identity
The right to maintain contact with siblings and
other loved ones
The right to be protected from ongoing parental disputes
The right to ask questions and to receive honest
answers
The right to be guilt and blame free regarding our
abductions
The current level of public interest has prompted three state legislative offices to request copies of our formal draft proposals. I am preparing the finalized language for these meetings and will provide documentation once the initial consultations conclude.

I am the Mother of children who were parentally abducted by their Father and his parents. I found them after 12 years. Nothing is resolved. It has left permanent damage to our relationships and our lives.

Nobody will give me any relief just knowing my kid is safe. I think hes missing and if hes with his father hes being abused and the law isnt helping me find information. My son doesnt deserve this treatment!

I am the father of an abducted son and it is a shame how our judicial system lacks knowledge and protection against the crime of parental child abduction and the tremendous emotional trauma and its short and long term effects. Please help the innocent and helpless.

My two granddaughters were kidnapped by their non custodial mother and her parents and family when they were only 22 months and 4 months old. They were taken to Portugal for four months before their mother and her dad tried to sneak back to the US.

I'm the grandmother to these three children and my I have witnessed (as listed in this petition) how my daughter and grandchildren have been affected from Family abduction.
-- her story is below---
I'm a searching parent that is "pende lite" aka still in court process and cannot publish my name. The court is deliberately protracted and part of the injustice.
I am now told that my abducted (wrongfully retained) kids have settled in their abducted country (South Africa) and the court have given interim custody to the abductor father, and told me to back home to my habitual country (USA) where I am now domiciled and trying to keep afloat with exepenses.
The courts have taken so long that kids were 13 and now 18! And second is was 11 and now 17, and daughter was 9 and now 14.... It has been hell on earth.,
(Fact: South Africa has a 100% failure rate to abide by The Hague Convention and court orders. SA central authority and family court all take on average 4-years to bring out their report. They convolute the issues so that the friends and family can be pointed as exerts, and only after this has bankrupted the families, is it court ready, which by then the court claims the kids have settled and cannot be reunified. That is Injustice havoc for the searching parent.
SA has never abided by Internatiinal foreign policy, or court orders and agreements in regard to the safety of abducted international children.
South African Judges brag that every single "international searching" parent has been found to be "unfit "- and judges appoint their own social workers (all friends colluding ) to investigate the homes, but the searching parents home is abroad, so they always rule that the kids are "ok-just fine" with abductor. Everything listed on this website is familiar to me and my personal pain. I have made all the mistakes of loading this on the kids, and each survivors story is so important to me and future parents so we can behave in safe pro
