There is opposition to the bike station at Hayes and Laguna and a desire to move it to Hayes and Buchanan. The current site is in the hearts of the Hayes Valley shops, convenient to many residents, and easy to find. It's the closest station to Patricia's Green. The proposed location is outside of the shopping area, further away from Patricia's Green, and up a slight hill, which discourages use.

It seems that the option is to move it up hill away from the shopping. The shopping is obviously the reason people would use it. and the total number of spaces wouldn't be less anyways. Car parking is less dense so a few more steps for them is more people to the retail. The drivers can walk a bit.
Taking up 2-3 parking spots for dozens of bikes that serve dozens of shop patrons is a much better deal for shop owners in Hayes Valley! Study after study has shown that improving transit, cycling, and walking ability in a commercial area increases paying customers at stores.
I used to live on Linden near Laguna, and the current location is much more sensible and usable than moving it uphill. There is ample parking serving the Hayes Street commercial district in the city-subsidized Performing Arts Garage. Bike share belongs at the heart of the neighborhood visible from one of its busiest bus stops.
I ride the gobikes to get to yoga at yogatree and for dining, among other activities. Please keep this station in the current location.
Please keep this docking station here! It is the closest to my work--and thus the only one that encourages me to bike to work from Noe Valley--and also is currently in a very good location for visitors to Hayes Valley's businesses.
The bike share station makes it feasible for someone like me who lives a mile a way to pop over to Hayes Valley easily. Please don't mess with it and build the other station proposed by Smitten
Bike share needs to be located as conveniently as possible, and that is the current location. We will never get significant numbers of people out of cars if we don't stop prioritize other forms of transit like bike share.

I'm the business owner that is directly in front of the bike share parking and this is of huge benefit to me. I have never seen an incident of a Ford bike backing out into traffic. It seems like a lot of nonsesne, a car door opens into traffic, how is that different from a bike pulling out of a parking bay.
