Pedicabs are a fun, safe, and environmentally conscious way to travel around the city. They are a fixture in the tourism industry here in New Orleans since the city initiated the Pilot Program in 2012. Although there have been no issues to speak of regarding passenger safety or experience, the New Orleans city council voted to extend the Pilot Program indefinitely. Because of the indefinite and non descript regulation of the pilot program the pedicab driver community has little to no job security, options regarding benefits/health/safety, and little voice or agency in the wonderful industry that couldn't operate without their hard work. Please eliminate the pilot program and replace it with a permanent program so that the pedicab bike taxi industry in New Orleans can continue to provide city-goers with the fun, safe, and valuable experience they want and deserve!

As an independent rider the laws currently prohibit me from becoming legal on my own and ride for myself.

My friend, Brasher, lives to pedicab, is incredibly good at his job, and constantly makes people very happy doing so. Let the man work.
