De bibliotheek van Sint-Luks Brussel is effectief veel meer dan een bibliotheek. Het is onmiskenbaar een kenniscentrum, maar ook een ontmoetingplaats voor docenten en studenten. De bibliotheek en haar medewerkers vormen mee de ziel van de campus, hun verankering op de campus is dus essentieel.

As a former student of St Lukas Hogeschool I must say that the library was a very special place to stay, with always a warm welcome and helpful frontdesk. Also interesting activities as exhibitions to attract new visitors or give existing visitors another psychological relaxation.

Voor we helemaal onpersoonlijk, digitaal en drempelverhogend aan de slag moeten om kennis te vergaren in een stille woestijn van individuen. Waar "ieder voor zich" een mantra wordt en kruisbestuiving zoek is.. tenzij op eigen initatief.. drempelverhogend dus .. :(

Ik kan me niet inbeelden dat de bibliotheek niet meer op onze campus zou zijn. Studenten en personeelsleden moeten hier kunnen binnenwandelen en ontdekken, tussen of zelfs tijdens lessen en ateliers, snel iets gaan opzoeken of even studeren... . De bibliotheek moet blijven.

Ook 'mijn' Architectuurbibliotheek Sint-Lucas Brussel valt onder dit plan. Een plan dat duidelijk is opgezet door mensen die niet het minste benul hebben van hoe kunst- en architectuurstudenten een bibliotheek gebruiken.

It is a ridicilous idea to move the library out of the building where teaching takes place. A library IS an active educational.instrument and YOU should know that!

Via Dirk Verhaegen hoorde ik dat een kunstbibliotheek verwojderd zal worden uit een kunstschool. Hoe kan dat? Dit is ongezien en onaanvaardbaar.

I'm a former student of LUCA and I can confidently highlight the importance of this library there. This was the space to be on your own, away from all the noise and completely focus on your studies. Alot of students dont even have a peaceful spot to work on projects and this library was that to us. It will disrupt the momentum of students and staff likewise.
