As you may have found out, prom is scheduled by administration to take place April 18th. The date has been claimed “not to change” but with the help of your signatures we hope to alter that.
For my Jews out there, Passover takes place during Coachella weekend 1 so you may not be able to attend that first weekend. So if you were planning on going to Coachella weekend 2, you’ll have to choose between that and your senior prom. In fact, many people have already bought their Coachella tickets. Sucks, right? Administration can benefit from a date change in turn. If kids are choosing to go to Coachella instead of prom, administration will be losing money from the lack of prom ticket sales. A date change would benefit all.

Just recently the class of 2015 prom was announced for April 18th, 2015. The weekend of the 18th is Coachella (weekend 2; weekend 1 is Passover). If it comes down to deciding between Coachella or Prom, we can promise you that a majority of students will prefer to attend Coachella over prom. That also means that the school may lose a large amount of money. Now getting a new venue is where your concern is because many venues may be booked. I'm sure the BHHS administration could work together with the students and find a venue for a Saturday night in either April or May.

I have been reviewing the feedback provided by my fellow students regarding the conflict between our senior prom and the festival schedule. It is evident that many individuals feel forced to choose between these two events. I am currently preparing a formal proposal for the administration that outlines how a date change would benefit the student body and the school budget alike.

The collective momentum behind this request is becoming impossible for the administration to overlook. It is clear that our peers value a solution that allows everyone to participate in both events.

i bought my coachella tickets months ago and im not down to lose that money. its honestly so unfair that they picked this weekend of all weekends
Prom date should also be changed because the "March of the Living" is also during this time where many people from Milken will not be able to attend and the kids from Beverly going to this trip will not be able to attend prom

Literally everyone is gonna skip if they dont move it. Why would they pick the exact same weekend as coachella when everyone knows when it is?? Change the date.
