We are opposed to the one cent sales tax increase and the doubling of professional license fees in Birmingham. While there are many things that need to change in this city, and we are excited that there is such an atmosphere of progress at hand, we want to see the powers that be have more input from the public, more input from the teachers/ police officers/ and fire fighter, and investigation of other resources for funding before going forward with this proposal.
