This petition is calling upon the University to change the way it timetables lecture rooms. Currently lecture rooms are allocated regardless where they are on campus, matching class sizes to the capacity of the room. Not only does this affect the time it takes to walk to lectures, but it also takes away the sense of a community within the department. We are calling for lectures to be taught in lecture theatres within our own department building, or the department which runs that module and where this is not at all possible, in nearby lecture theatres ideally within our own college. (Arts & Law, Engineering & Physical Sciences, Life & Environmental Sciences, Medical & Dental Sciences and Social Sciences) This petition will be sent to the University to try and alter the way it allocates rooms for timetabling.
