BGSA should have a voting delegate on the Student Interest Board of the Forum in order to represent and advocate for the interests of graduate students of color. We the undersigned hereby urge the GSA Forum to accept this organization as a member of the board.
The Black Graduate Student Association (BGSA) of UCLA is committed to: developing a network of emerging scholars of African descent who are dedicated and sensitive to the needs and concerns of an increasingly diverse academic and larger community; providing resources that will enhance the likelihood of academic and career success of current graduate and professional students; and increasing the number of graduate and professional students of African descent by encouraging undergraduates to pursue graduate and professional degrees. BGSA is an academic, social, and professional resource for its members. The Black Graduate Student Association of UCLA is proud to link our members with one another, the campus community and their professional and cultural community at large.
