A petition started after Queens Park Rangers lost 2-1 to Arsenal. Had Martin Atkinson been watching, he would've noticed Bobby Zamora getting fouled blatantly in the box. this would've resulted in a penalty, and a much deserved draw. This is not just one occasion, but many in. For example Manchester United vs Chelsea at Old Trafford. Chelsea were 1-0 up in the last few minutes, when Ivanovic skimmed Robin Van Persie's heel (RVP). RVP dived, a free kick was given, which Man U scored from, while Ivanovic was sent off.

I have two proposed solutions. The first if a referee makes a string of bad decisions he is suspended depending on the amount of mistakes, an FA panel would review the ref at the end of the game and act accordingly.
My other solution is that after each matchday, all refs from every tier of professional football in England are analysed. and given a score out of one hundred. If they have a high score they would ref a big game. e.g a ref who scored a hundred reffing Exeter vs Hartlepool would manage the Manchester derby next matchday, whilst a bad ref, who scored ten, would manage Wycombe vs Portsmouth. (I mean no ill to any clubs mentioned, they were the first I could think of).

In these ways, I believe the amount of awful decisions made in big games would be hugely reduced.
