Until people take animal cruelty seriously nothing will be done. You can see it across the world, those that would hurt animals are everywhere.....they must really hate themselves! We have to just keep slogging on and helping animals where and when we can. The world is never going to be perfect while people are in it, we just have to hope that parents start to educate their children about respect for all other living beings....

Without a doubt, anyone found being deliberately cruel to an animal, should have a life long ban on having animals. Ireland leads the way it other way - let this be one of them.

We must stop the cruelty and abuse for animals in Ireland - they need new laws to protect them

I think animal cruelty has become a serious issue in Ireland and something needs to be done about it. If the things that were done to animals were done to a person there would be serious consequences and the state would take action to ensure the same person doesn't do the same thing again, so I don't see why it shouldn't be any different with animal cruelty. Changes have to be made, and they have to be made soon.

We need to educate people about the wonderful wildlife living in Ireland and how it should be respected.

Oh definitely, and some organisations that are there to protect sometimes don't do enough. As myslef was in a position were a swan had done damage to its poor neck. And I waiting two hours for help and even at that was told to go home. Had to ring a guard who told me it wasn't an emergency. So rang local guards and they said they would gpnhave a look and still haven't heard. Dreadful.

It's about time people were held accountable for cruelty to animals stricter laws need to be brought in along with heavier sentences
