I am disabled and live alone, have to work from home because of my health and do it through online sales of items that people aren't really dying for since they can't even go anywhere. I was struggling before this and now I'm completely broke. People that are still working from home that I know will be getting a check but I won't. I've been sick for over 10 years now and am on almost 20 medications. I had just started the application process for SSI because of course I couldn't even apply for disability because I was a stay at home mother to 4 children for 11 years before I got sick. And even if I was receiving SSI, I wouldn't be applicable for a stimulus check either. I have no income and can't get financial help from the government but everyone else I know that still has a job or is on paid leave can. Not broke gets you help and broke gets you nothing. I have no idea what I'm going to do. I shall have an autoimmune disorder so I'm worried about even leaving my house. Somebody needs to do something. Please. For all of us.

I'm self employed and make less than $10,000 a year. So I'm a low earner and can't get unemployment, medical insurance, and barely can afford to live. Now I stand to lose what little income I have and nowhere to turn.

As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in private practice in NYC, I am being asked to volunteer my services, which I am happy to do, but I'm also paying $2000+/mo. on office rent as I see clients remotely from home and many of my clients can't afford to keep doing therapy even though the stress of the situation makes it more importnat than ever. Nobody can explain how volunteers are going to be made whole economically...add it to the list of difficulties faced by the self-employed!

I'm self employed as a Independent contractor and I worked just as a hard if not harder then the average person and I pay my fair share of taxes just like anyone else. Therefore, I deserve my fair share of any monies the federal government send in response to the Covid-19 virus.

The government should also consider professional fields such as landscaping in which entire groups of workers are regularly miscategorized (and paid) as independent contractors rather than employees. I work as a gardener, and this shady practice is just "how it's done" in this profession. It hurts us badly in situations like the current crisis.

I'm a self employed. I feel we should be included. It's gonna be hard for self employed workers to come back from this.

those of us who freelance or are building a business whoa re not linked to an employer are impacted by the economic downturn and do not qualify for unemployment . We need universal basic income UBI so we dont fall through the cracks.
