Road diversion arrangements totally unsatisfactory. Road needs opened each evening to permit resident/visitors access.

Open up the roads once work is finished for the day

I totally agree with all of the comments. I had in fact spoken to a duo counsellor early in the week to leave people like this is ridiculous the middle brained road is extremely narrow and can't really cope with the diversion. When are our political representatives going to stop arguing and do what they are paid to do

I'm fed up with men playing on the road then leaving a mess and being paid for it.

Surely traffic lights could have been put in place. DRD has not considered residents at all. It would have been nice to have had some information from DRD directly. How will the complete road closure at the conclusion of the roadworks be managed?

Surely a traffic light system would not be too difficult to operate andreleive the mayhem and considerable inconvenience!!

I'm a driving instructor and live in one of the roads affected by the road works, I also teach pupils in this area and am now forced to bring them home via the upper braniel road, while I trust my pupils ability (with my guidance) unfortunately other drivers more familiar with that route are less than tolerant to come upon a learner driver and I have witnessed a lot of dangerous driving in their efforts to overtake us! It's only a matter of time before there is a serious accident on an already fast and dangerous road.

poorly organised. Residents weren't made aware of what was happening. Diversion is an extra 10 minute journey which isn't good enough. I emailed DRD but I still haven't received a reply which is not good enough. Could go on and on!

Temporary traffic lights a sensible solution....why can they not be introduced when changes have already been made as a result of concerns and complaints?

Disgraceful! Have they no common sense? Disrupt the lives of 400 residents when there are many simple alternative solutions. Beggars belief!

I agree with Ingrrud, there was no need to close the whole road off whenever they were only working on one part of the road. I ow they have taken the cones away but it's still only allowing one lane of traffic. The planning that went into this is pathetic! i could have planned it better myself

Thanks for setting this up. Whilst we all understand the fact that work can at time need carried out for long term gain , the fact that the road services felt that there was no need to communicate with residents is quite simply unbelievable. Equally to close the entire road when there is absolutely no need shows complete lack of planning an effective workable solution for the thousands of people impacted.

resident, support traffic control measures, concerned about illegal driving in the one-way zone (no excuse for breaking law, however inconvenient)
