40 km drive to the seat of government of one of the richest countries in the world with below third world. For some reason Elon Musk's starlink isn't available. Governments all levels can't do anything. Bell profits from 50 year old infrastructure. This area pays for service the same as all others. Can you say conspiracy theory, probably just political influence or pay offs.

I can't believe this is a question or argument. You're running a copper DSL connection in 2021! Why not try to make dial-up internet trendy again! With more infrastructure, you could easily take your 5MB download speed....5MB.....The average wifi speed in Canada is 111mb/s!!! The average wifi coverage in south Africa is 5.9!!!!! Contance bay has taken the cake in their inability to grow up and adapt. With the pandemic, i have been working from home more often. A 5mb speed is enough to run a zoom session. Maybe update to mid-2000, or even 2010s if your feeling bold! Being stuck in the mid-1990s is idiotic. Do the right thing bay rats, join the new world!!!!!!!!!!

With need for covid solutions relying heavily on the internet, and the push to make the internet necessary utility like water and electricity. You'd think they'd be more on the ball.
Hurry up Bell.

This petition started almost 5 years ago and what has happened? Zero, nothing, nada, zilch! Why because BELL has a MONOPOLY in Constance Bay. BELL is almost like a communist regime. How can we have one ISP to serve a population of 2500 people? (others are just re-sellers using BELL's Crap infrastructure)
The copper in the ground is rotting and BELL won't do anything about it. When you call in you get a very friendly but hand cuffed rep, who is based in Central America or Asia and they have better internet service than I do living in the capital of a G7 Nation!!!
BELL should be sued, we should start a class action against them!!! Upto 5 Mb/s doesn't mean an average of 2-3 Mb/s!!! BELL won't don't do anything because they know they own and control the infrastructure that everyone uses and any other alternative ISP like "over the air" is way too cost prohibitive. Ironically we have a Federa Cabinet minister who lives in Constance Bay so I thought we would have a champion on our side finally to put the screws to BELL, but I guess Money talks because here we are after almost 4 years as government and the Federal Liberals have done ZERO for Constance Bay Internet. Justin did come from a cool Photo-Op though when the floods happened, because that gets votes... Not in the Bay of course but on Toronto and Montreal where the Federal elections are decided. In Rural Ottawa we know better, we have been forgotten!
I talked to Karen McCrimmon when she was first elected and she suggested we form a co-operative and fight BELL that way. I didn't have the time or Energy at that time but maybe the time has come. WE deserve 100Mb/s nor 2.5Mb/s, even though we pay the fees for 100 for sure. We had neighbours just move in across the road and they were shocked by the internet, I guess the realtor didn't inform them we have Rural "third world" Internet. Seriously Internet access and speed have been identified by the World Bank as key drivers of economic growth, job creat

I live in Constance Bay and I’m tired off overpaying for Bell services I don’t receive! Tired of calling Bell to fix issues only to be billed for high speed service which Bell can’t provide to my home

The worst of it is that Bell already has Fibre cables running into Constance Bay. The library and nearby houses have "real" broadband

I couldn't agree more. Not only in the Bay but in most places in West Carleton-March the internet is either not available, unreliable or low speed.

It's a CRIME that I am paying a high internet monthly fee for 5GB yet the best I can get is 3.2GB......
