Dating back to March 23rd, 1929 the Beta Delta Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Incorporated has produced many successful brothers in many different careers such as teachers, lawyers, doctors, entrepreneurs, and engineers to name a few. It hurts us deeply to know that younger brothers have done something to cause a problem with our chapter and put our beloved Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity at risk. The many alumni brothers of the Beta Delta Chapter would like our voices to be heard. We look at this as a challenge to improve our chapter and restore the good name that we have had for many years. We support this appeal and hope that you decide to decrease the suspensions.
By signing this petition as an alumni brother of the Beta Delta Chapter, I pledge the following:
1) To improve the relationship that I have with the undergraduate and younger Brothers
2) To increase my continuous and consistent mentoring of younger brothers
3) To help to enhance and shape the minds of younger brothers
4) To expand the relationship I have with the Advisor and/or Advisement Committee

I have been reading through the notes people are leaving along with their names and honestly it feels like a heavy weight being lifted because so many of you remember the same legacy I do. I am working on getting a meeting set up with the folks in charge so we can show them how much this chapter actually means to us all. It is quiet right now but I am spending all my time drafting these letters and making sure they know we are not going anywhere.

Seeing this kind of momentum honestly hits hard because it proves how many of us still care deeply about the chapter legacy. I have been scrolling through these names all morning and it really feels like we are finally starting to turn the tide for the brothers who came after us.

Let’s work to move forward and forgive any transgressions. Teach the youth, not condemn them.
I support Beta Delta! I stand with my Brothers regarding the four aforementioned pledge points! It's paramount that we continue to build on Beta Delta's meaningful past developing/equipping the undergraduate and younger brothers to face the challenges of the the future/interesting world!
As as active member of the Fraternity, I vow to mentor and assist in the rebuilding of the chapter.
Please strongly consider decreasing the suspension in order to allow the good name of Alpha and Beta Delta to be restored.
Life member 9097 I support my undergraduate chapter brothers of Beta Delta at South Carolina State University. I will ensure I provide the proper mentoring, guidance, and fellowship with them needed to assist them to continue to grow as productive young men in society and within Alpha.

Becoming a brother of the Beta Delta chapter had a profound effect on my college days and after. I hate the thought of young men at SCSU missing out on that opportunity.
