Dear Bouygues UK Management Team,
In response to your letter to GMC
members dated Thursday 29th November, we would like to inform you of our
refusal to sign the proposed GMC alternative on the ground that BUPA Select is
not comparable to the GMC cover we currently benefit from.
Many of us came to the UK on the
basis that, despite not being offered an expatriation contract, we were at
least to get a private medical insurance as good as the one provided to the
expatriates. Many of us also joined Bouygues UK knowing that we were getting
GMC as a Private Medical Insurance. And some of us subscribed to the
alternative PMI, BUPA, whilst benefitting from the possibility to upgrade to
GMC in the future.
We understand that, as of 31st of
December 2013, the GMC PMI cover will cease to be available to employees.
We officially express our expectation
to be offered, as of 1st of January 2014, an equivalent alternative under the
initially agreed conditions on individual basis (i.e. family covered or not,
subsidy or not, etc…).
We expect our request will meet your
understanding and prompt action.
Regards,
This is completely unfair. We were promised this coverage when we started and now they just want to swap it for something cheaper? Not acceptable.
