I am proud to see my fellow Bermudians stand up and be counted. If you want a referendum, continue to demand it.

Every Bermudian has a voice. Do not take that away from us. The government is in place to represent the people - how can they do that without knowing where the people stand?

The people have been promised a say in this critical decision and all of us need to understand what is being proposed, as the future of our beloved country is at stake.

I think the people of Bermuda should have a say in this. Keep everyone involved and not in the dark, then slam us with your choice without asking how the people feel about it.

I believe that a decision as important as this and with such far reaching effects should have the input of the people. I also believe that democracy should prevail and Government should keep its promise.

I do not like gambling personally. I am aware of the damage it has done to individuals who became addicted to gambling and how destructive it can be to their families in the same way that addictions to drugs and alcohol can be. However, Bermuda has got to take action to return itself to the economic success it was in the past and I believe this is one way to achieve this through tourism. It would be my hope that Bermudians will be given first preference to apply for jobs if they are capable of working in a casino environment, not because they are Bermudian (as am I). I also feel that there has got to be some control put in place to protect Bermudians from falling into a gambling addiction for the sake of their family and for Bermuda. Bermuda does not need more people on financial assistance in shelters or living under other unfavorable conditions.

I support the legalization of casino gambling in Bermuda, but I firmly believe the issue should be decided in a referendum using a neutrally worded question. This is the only fair and reasonable way for Bermuda to decide this important issue.

I'd like to at least be able to vote on this, although my answer will be NO. We do not need to stoop down to this level. And, the loaded question is an insult to us as Bermudians. I find it abhorrent.
