Please advocate for the following common sense steps to limit gun violence:
-Repeal Dickey amendment and allow CDC to study gun violence as a public health issue
- Permanently ban assault style weapons similar to the Federal Assault Weapons Ban of 1994 that was allowed to expire
- Ban high capacity magazines
- Ban bump stocks
- Require registration and ban transfer of grandfathered weapons
- Eliminate private seller loophole
- Ban sales of weapons to individuals under the age of 21
- Reinstate National Instant Criminal Background Check system Social Security data access - and put it into effect.
- Tighten straw purchasing rules
- Repeal Tiahart Amendments requiring destruction of purchase records

Guns should not be permitted in people's homes at all. At least safe and locks help.
