Please sign the petition to Stop Ben from being medically discharged before he has completed his rehab.

Hero Para Ben Parkinson won't be able to walk and talk if they boot him out of The Army!

Ben, of 7 Para, Royal Horse Artillery, was blown up by a Taliban bomb while in his open-topped Land Rover in Helmand on September 12, 2006.

His back was broken in three places, his lungs punctured, every rib was fractured and he suffered horrendous injuries to his face.

Both his legs were amputated above the knee. He was in a coma for four months, lost his speech and suffered debilitating brain injuries.

For 18 months he was treated at the military’s Headley Court rehab centre in Surrey, before having a back op on the NHS and returning home to Doncaster, South Yorks.

Ben was told this month that the Army Medical Services Board had “made a recommendation for medical discharge” which is expected to happen this December.

The MoD want to be rid of the hassle and cost of looking after him, and want to transfer Ben to the NHS, which means his progress will be halted, and he will start to go backwards. He may even end up not being able to walk or talk.

We believe that by discharging Ben from the Army in Dec, it is a clear breach of the Military Covenant, which is meant to protect the rights and duty of care owed to our servicemen and women.
If you agree with us please sign the petition to Stop Ben from being medically discharged before he has completed his rehab.
