Prof. Benjamin B. Dimas, former director of the Benguet State University's (BSU) Agroforestry Center was responsible for spearheading the research, production and education of the Arabica coffee in the Cordillera Region particularly in Benguet for many years. He took up the challenge to carve a niche from out of nothing in the mountains to what has become now as one of the best agroforestry show-windows in the whole of Cordillera region. Yet, even after his retirement, his contributions, even though known by many, remain in the back-window, perhaps due to bureaucracy, politicians' ignorance and failure of some BSU top honchos to give credit to where credit is due. The best way to give Prof. Dimas that long overdue recognition, even though he would shun it if he will know about it, is to name the BSU Agroforestry Center as the Benjamin B. Dimas Agroforestry Center. Please show your support and approval to this humble Ibaloi public servant by signing the petition. I will bring it a week before June 24, BSU's Foundation Day, to the BSU Board of Regents and, convince them to approve the petition, even if I have to knock some sense to their heads to show what they have failed to see and comprehend for many years.

Prof Dimas deserves this recognition!! He worked so hard to build that place from nothing. BSU should just do it already.
