I have been shooting at ranges across the country for the past 3 years, all of the ranges allow for 180° shooting, I have never seen a safety issue. Allowing Cactus to allow 180° shooting would be a benefit to your range and shooters. Bringing competitive shooters from around the nation so shoot at you facility is a great way for the range to make money and assist shooters who want to better their competitive skills

I am a USPSA Range Officer as well as a 3-gun competitor and 180 degree shooting has never caused a legitimate safety issue in my experience. RSO's that are used to a standard firing line, hot/cold style range are understandably taken aback by this kind of thing, but it's been done safely in this country and others for at least thirty years.

Let us shoot into a wide field of fire. I have NEVER witnessed any issues with other shooting ranges that allow the wider field of fire. Please consider making the changes to allow us competitive shooters to design and shoot stages that allow us to shoot into the berms. This is not a safety issue...it's probably someones obscured/biased opinion on the matter which restricts us from shooting into the berms.

Like many others, I have competed in countless practical shooting matches in different parts of our great country. Never have I seen or heard of an issue with wide angled target engagement.

I have been ROing or MDing matches using side impact berms for 6 years without ever seeing a potential safety issue. We regularly use a 270 degree bay.

As a internationally ranked shooter, retired LE and Military instructor and World Champion shooter, I have competed at hundreds of ranges worldwide. Almost all of these ranges allow wide angle target engagement. To my knowledge none have had issues resulting in injuries from shooting into the berm.
I have been shooting at Ben Avery for 24 years, and have never seen an issue with this.
Please reconsider and allow matches to be designed to engage targets on side berms.

As a police firearms instructor for over 18 years we regularly fire into the side berms. As a national competitive shooter we regularly fire into side berms. To date I have never had a safety issue from this regular practice. I am personally available to discuss this to explain more. Regards, and happy safe shooting
