We urge Wandsworth Council to consider a reduction of the existing 30 mph on Bellevue Road and to impose a speed limit of 20 mph bringing into line with other 20 mph roads in Nightingale Ward.

This busy road between the popular shopping parade and Wandsworth Common should be made as safe as possible for families.

At certain times of the day there are many children crossing this road, occasionally fetching balls that have been thrown/kicked too hard etc. I know of people whose dogs have been run over here or nearly caused an accident as they have run off despite owners' best efforts. The difference in injury level when hit by a vehicle travelling at 20 rather that 30 mph is well documented.

We are a local family living on Althorp Road. It’s only a matter of time before there is a serious accident on Bellevue Road with all the young families crossing between the shops and the common. Let’s reduce the speed now before we regret it!

The traffic speeds on Bellevue Road are a real concern for local families like us. The Council must take action to cut speeds to 20mph and thereby do what they can to prevent a terrible accident that is currently waiting to happen.
