I lieve in Kamloops but before that in William Lake and had work to do in Bella Coola with the farris alot of torist make the circle tour trough the chllcooton down the hill hil into Bella Coola and tell wonderful stories about the trip to there friend.

BC Ferries thinks that saving a measly $1.4 million over 3 years is more important than a $10 million tourism industry.

Maintaining the ferry service from Port Hardy to Bella Coola is essential to the contism economy in Bella Coola and the Chilcotin as resource based industry continue to shrink. Our air service has been cut both in Bella Coola and Anahim Lake, Highway 20 needs a major resurfacing; and now this. Seriously; what are you thinking? This could be the last straw for a lot of people on the Bella Coola - Chilcotin corridor.

I used to live and work in Bella Coola at one of the Motels and I know that removing the ferry service will hurt not only the businesses but everyone living the the Valley and the Chilcotin. So many industries, forestry and fishing for example, have either suffered or shut down in past years. Tourism has become such a large part of the Bella Coola Valley. Cancelling the ferry will cause a such blow to the tourism industry that I worry about whether all the businesses can survive through it. This is one of the last untouched wildernesses on BC's coast. I have heard coutless times of how beutiful the ferry ride is, that it is less of a ferry ride than it is a mini cruise. On occasion the ferry would go slightly out of it's way if the captain spotted a pod of whales and would announce it on the loud speaker.

Tourism in the Cariboo Chilcotin Coast region of British Columbia depend on the ferry service to Bella Coola. The Discovery Coast circle tour is one of the most asked about driving tours in the CCC area. The cancellation of ferry service to the Bella Coola area would have a huge impact on tourism businesses in the central coast and chilcotin areas. Instead of canceling the service, has BC Ferries thought about promoting more travel to this beautiful area that has so much to offer?

The reisdents, businesses, and safety of Bella Coola valley rely on the ferry on route 40 bring restored. It is imperative to the very survival of the people who live there.

Please do not stop this service it is much needed for many many reasons, local industry, local travellers, visitors and tourists alike. This would be a HUGE loss to BC!

I travelled on the ferry from Port Hardy to Ocean Falls this past summer and was hoping to make it an annual trip.... I was born and raised in Ocean Falls, leaving in 1980 with the final shutdown...

Bella Coola is the most beautiful spot in British Columbia. With the decline of the forestry and fishing industry Bella Coola's future now depends on tourism for its survival. This ferry connection is critical for that future. A lot of businesses and individuals have worked hard to grow tourism in the Bella Coola Valley. This is now in jeopardy. If its just about costs I am sure that there is a more efficient way to run the service to make it sustainable.

I believe this ferry service to the Bella Coola Valley and the central coast of B.C. is a vital link to the outside world. We have had highway closures and airport shutdowns, because of floods and the only alternate way out of here was on the ferry. The tourists travel the Discovery Coast route and see wonders that they could not see on any other ferry. Tourisme is the only sustainable resource this valley relies on now and in the future.
