Keep the ferry line open - as a German tour operator I'm telling my clients about the beauty and the awesome cruise to or from Port Hardy. Closing down roads, rails or ferries is like cutting lifelines. Tourism is not just earning a few bucks, it's about relationship between locals and new made friends. BC Ferries may save a few Dollars but loosing much more value of life!

American tourist who took this ferry route last year. The ferry was full and we really enjoyed the trip. It would be a shame to end it. We drove to Tweedsmuir, stayed there and then took the ferry south. If there had been no ferry, we would not have gone this way.

This is sad indeed that areas like bella coola will be even more inaccessible, this makes a tremendous stress on the habitants, that need tourism and connection to the mainland.. Decisions like this should be revaluated.

The cancellation of this route is not absolutely not justifiable cause it is necessary for lots of people living in the area and also for the tourists!

I have visited Beaal Coola many times and the Route 40 service is so essential. Such a beautiful place should be easier to get to, not more difficult.

We cannot imagin that de Bella Coola will be closed; many of our Dutch friends that visited British Columbia has done the Bella Colola route and remembers the beautifull views. And for all future Dutch tourists we hope that they can do the Bella Coola route and can go by BC Ferries !
