This is a collection of names of parents in the Newburyport area who are interested in the availability of before and/or after-school care for their children, ranging in ages from preschool through elementary school. The goal of this petition is to create awareness of how many parents need such care due to work schedules and the neverending balance between school/childcare and careers. In the past, it has been unclear to many people in the community that this is an option and that the availability is determined based on need for such services. This petition aims to demonstrate that need so that such an option can be pursued to be made available to parents of young children in the Newburyport School System.
