Since the presence of honeybees in an ecosystem is generally found to boost productivity, the short and mid-term environmental benefits are abundant. They include an increase in pollination service for Macalester Campus and the Macalester/Groveland Neighborhood, an increase in plant and animal biodiversity, and a greater yield for area flowers, fruit trees, and vegetable plots.
