I support the proposal to reduce verge cutting. A ,lot of it is uneccesary and wastes our money.

Pollinating flowers being so essentail a linnk in our ecosystmes, we must make every every effort to ensure that their contribution is not still further eroded by over-zealous verge cutting.

It is regrettable that over the last 200 years the areas of natural wildflower rich habitat have been steadily eroded until only the verges remain of once extensive beauty. It is imperative that these remnants are maintainded is such a manner as to preserve and promote their biodiversity, not least for plants, but the rest of the biome that relies upon them as source4s of nectar, fruits etc. I weholheartedly support the proposal.

There are few places our wildlife can exist with intensive farming practices. Leaving the verges to grow (subject to safety) makes total sense.

Frankly, I find it hard to understand why people oppose a pollinator policy. Tere must be some lack in education here.

The biodiversity benefits would be enormous, especially if reduced verge cutting could be practiced nationwide. Ideally, once a year end of growing season cutting should be adopted at locations where road safety is not an issue. Something needs to be done about obsessive annual hedge flailing late summer early autumn.. How much natural food and shelter for wildlife could be preserved each autumn.

About time, its the lanes that worry me they are cut as early as April round us, going right up the hedges and taking off the top soil causing land slips etc. last year we lost all the bluebells!
