This is a prime example of why you cant leave this up to the goverment. We spent 44 million to raise the road between higj island and gilchriest last time and barely 7 years later we are having issues again. The government would have us believe another 44 million is the solution and raise the road done more when you will never stop mother nature. I know this is so simple it will never happen but seems to me a more permanent solution would be to build the road back a Lot further in. Say start right were the salt dome begins to drop just past the fruit stand and head straight to the cut from there. Heres another novel thought. Bet a new road would be cheaper than the twenty layers of blacktop they used last time and the land could be ckaimed through imminent domain. One more crazy idea and i will get off my soapbox. Let us use the old road while you build the new one do we dont have eight months of congestion due to construction. Nah that would be to easy.

There are children that attend school in HighIsland who are bused from Crystal beach this is not only a dangerous Rd. to travel on high tide but school attendance is affected as well!! Jobs are affected!! Many Crystal Beach and Bolivar residents need this Rd. open to travel to and from work. Ambulance travel this Rd. as well as medical transportation for the disabled please take immediate action and fix Hwy 87!! Lives depend on it!! Thank You

My grandparents lived in High Island, my parents are from High Island and Winnie and I was born in Winnie. I love this area. Please fix this highway so all can enjoy the drive!

Need real and permanent repairs to road and sea erosion.
Would like to see something done like in Louisiana, rock reefs every so often and road built up and over land like atchafalaya bridge. Galveston county needs to use all money's given in grants etc to this problem. It's a shame they have let this road go under and be destroyed to this point.

Would love for this to be fixed for all the people that live there, and also because we have love ones who have homes, we go to visit and fish. Would love to know if a big storm was going to hit again would love to be able to get out. Please take action on this before it washes away the road that is left. Thanks
