We pay high taxes every year in Gilchrist and get nothing in return. Looks like they could fix road. The corp of engineers should be fired. Worse job in Texas. These are really dumb people. The waves are higher then barriers to stop water.

This isn't that hard. Move inland 200 yards and elevate the road 12 feet all the way to Rollover. This should be a higher priority than filling in Rollover.

Yes we are in the process of buying a lot in Crystal and us along with family members will be traveling that road even more not to mention families traveling for health reasons to Galveston and for families living along the coast needing an evacuation route I pray something get done for all safety and fir more years of fun

The state needs to fix the hwy so it is passable at all times. I use that hwy to get to galveston instead of I-45. I-45 is ridicules to travel at anytime.

Elevate the road. Common sense.... Just moving the roads inward will only make this issues come up again..

Please I live at crystal beach when I am not on a contract as I am a travel nurse and this is the third time I've gone to leave and worried if I would make it across

If the ferry has to stop because it is too choppy 87 is the only way off the Peninsula. There is a shelter in High Island that is worthless if the people can t get to it. Quit throughing temporary fixes at us and fix it before you cause people to die because you are dragging your collective feet. Do you think our families will not bring a class action against the county if many die because you haven't fixed Hwy. 87? I believe you would be wrong! It has been 8 years since Ike and you are still dragging your feet! Get it fixed!!!
