The best thing about Keys to Hope is the Case Manager. A case manager talks to each person who comes and finds out what services they need. If they have need of counseling, they are referred for that. If they need to apply for disability, or other services, they are helped with that.
The homeless now have a place to come during the day so they don't have to roam all day. They will have a place to keep their belongings so they don't have to carry them with them everywhere they go.
They can take showers there and clean up any time. They can job hunt with computers.
They won't be out in the cold every day in the Winter. With help they now have a chance to find a job and a place to live.
Michigan City will not have all the people sitting around all day on steps and benches because they have no place to go.
Keys to Hope is a place where they are welcomed.
