The judge ruled that these animals will not return to the person who neglected them. I am still shaking because this outcome means those twelve lives are finally safe from ever suffering in that house again. Thank you for helping me protect them when they could not speak for themselves.

On Feb. 10,2015, a post in a local Facebook group reported there were at least 10 dogs abandoned in a house in Texarkana, Texas and were chewing through the side of the house to get out.

According to Texarkana, Texas Public Information Officer, Lisa Thompson animal control officers were called to a house on W. 9th street because residents had reported seeing animals trying to chew their way out. Animal control officers gained entry to the house through a relative of the owner and found seven puppies, four adult dogs and one cat abandoned.

“The animals were taken to the shelter and are on a thirty day hold,” Thompson said.

Now the owner of the dogs wants the dogs BACK. At this time the animals are on a 30 day hold at the local animal shelter while criminal investigation continues. In the end, it looks like a judge will decide if the animals are to be returned to the owner. This petition is a way to be a VOICE for the animals AND SAY NO to their return!

Seeing one hundred people sign this in such a short time gives me hope that these twelve animals will not be forgotten. I still remember the heartbreak I felt when I heard they were chewing through walls to escape that house. Your support proves that our community cares about their safety.

Seeing this kind of momentum brings me back to the images of those poor animals trying to chew their way to safety. Knowing so many people are determined to prevent them from returning to that house makes the weight on my chest feel a little lighter.

Heck no. they should not get them back. they moved a left them. if they wanted them they would have taken them with them when they left. you people have lost your dang mind and dont deserve these animals.

whether or not this individual is a "bad person" is immaterial, but they obviously did not have the mental, emotional, or perhaps the mental faculties to care for these pets, and common sense says they need to be rehomed.

It is a crime to leave animals without food and water, and a mother dog trying her best to keep her babies alive with nothing to keep her going is sickening, these people need to be charged with aggregated animal cruelty and never allowed another animal in their lifetime.

they had no compassion when they deserted these poor souls without food or water and NOW they want them back? they should never be allowed to obtain another living creature for the rest of their sorry lives

Why even waste time and money considering the "owner's" request? In a case where it can be proven that animals were truly abandoned or deliberately withheld proper care, there shouldn't even be a legal process.

the desperation of an animal to be so hungry and thirsty that they are chewing through walls is absolutely heartbreaking. That alone would convince anyone that these dogs need to be found homes with responsible pet owners.
