Early outs every Wednesday and 10 day additional Fall break is not in best interest if our students. Very disruptive to learning, totally screws up the AP. Purses for our students even more now that school will let out later in June and the national dates for these exams is in early May because other schools get out at a normal time of year. If we had shorten holiday classroom parties in elementary school to ensure the students had enough classroom learning f time, then why on earth our we letting our students out of school early every Wednesday and adding another 10 days off in October. This is certainly not to benefit our students.

I support the teachers getting time to plan and gain training. They work very hard and feel like it is in the best interest of the students for them to get adequate planning time. However, the fall break is not in the best interest of the students. I am very disappointed in that part of the calender.

I am completely against the week long fall break. This will be detrimental to my student at BHS.

this calender was designed for the teachers to have more time off it has nothing to do with whats better for our children lets put our children first

Parents are outraged , 10 total day Fall break is so ridiculous, particularly after not starting school until late August.

Our kids should be a priority. We should be there for them and foster growth year round. Early outs and fall breaks disrupt kids and their learning process. If teachers and school admistrators need need addition planning time, they can head to work early or stay late. But don't steal that time from our kids.

This fall break and EVERY week, early out are ridiculous! Let's get back to teaching our students and doing right by them!

This calendar is disruptive to learning. Many kids are involved in some sort of extra curricular activity and those continue on during breaks so students cannot even take advantage of this time off for college visits, extra family time, etc not to mention the disruption to the honors programs.

The AP schedule is my TOP concern. It is already messed up by required late start date by Branstad. The elementary school parents will have no idea until their kids are in high school. For sure they will then change their minds. And a fall break so close to Thanksgiving break is unnecessary. If it were found to be necessary, for some reason, seems like it would be better to add an extra day or two to Thanksgiving break instead of adding a whole week in October.

All of this early out and fall break makes the last day of school the 7th of june?? Too late. Sounds like all year round school to me. Bettendorf is not.

The fall break is useless. Pulling kids out of school for a week without learning. Kids in fall sports can't take advantage of anything. Kids in AP and honors classes can't be removed from class for a week. I heard the majority of people did not want to so how did it go through?
