Issue #3 and #6 I have some issues with, but overall this petition is excellent and well thought about about issues that should not be ignored or "swept under the rug".

I am also a student who has experienced racism at this school. The school does nothing to engage the students and faculty who would never participate in voluntary education or training. I want that population to be engaged. It should be a requirement to entry in this learning space. Why is that not an explicitly stated priority with concrete and consistent consequences for an inability to uphold those values?

lol, they posted this thing everywhere asking everyone to sign it....yet it starts with "i have experienced...." . So that's extremely disingenuous, asking people to agree with your "cause" by asking them to sign a statement that they've experienced mistreatment. I have experienced quite a bit of discrimination at BCC, from teachers, because I'm a white male, I have to work harder to get the same grades, and don't get any kind of leeway at all, unlike many students who have been granted extra leeway, excuses, benefit of the doubt, help, etc from teachers because they're female or have some pigmentation to their skin. Disgusting "movement", disgusting attention seeking and victimization behavior. Just work and study, like everyone else. Life is hard, for everyone, it's a universal fact. Now stop wasting so much time complaining, and start using that time to work.

I am very impressed with this strong, decisive list of requests, and I am pleased and proud to see Bellevue College students exercising their voices in the form of collective action. I am signing to show my support. I do have some concern about the "zero-tolerance" policy, because zero-tolerance policies, as they've been practiced, have tended to disproportionally and negatively impact minority/disadvantaged/targeted social groups more than the dominant groups.

I think it is wrong that there is so much negative discrimination against certain people's at BC. It is very unfair.

Thank you, BC Students United Against Hate, for your stand to end disparities in higher education. If not now, when? If not here, where? If we all work together, BC can be an innovator and exemplar of equity. We all know it is going to take something. Doing that something is long overdue.
