Jimi Hendrix said Rory Gallagher was the greatest guitarist. That in itself should deserve a tribute programme to Rory from the BBC.

its only right that rory gallagher be honoured by the bbc for his massive contribution to british rock blues scene and for been rated as one of the greatest blues rock guitarists ever

Rory's gigs had such a friendly and engaging atmosphere, and make great viewing. Not getting much mainstream airplay, Rory and the band are always a huge plus for a new audience who chanced upon them. I was lucky enough to catch Souped Up Ford broadcast one glorius Sunday afternoon on the Annie Nightingale show on Radio 1 ... wow, wow wow. I was so lucky I did. It would be delightful if the BBC again gave others the same opportunity. Rory is loved in France, and a joint BBC broadcast with the French and Germans ... that Paris footage should be on everyones watch list, and they could get the OGWT birthday performance in return ... . Lifes too short - just do it!

Rory was, is, and shall forever be one of the greatest performers and guitar masters that ever lived. There will never be another like him. Besides that, the man himself was a sweet soul. He deserves to be honored and recognized as such even after all this time.

Have seen some footage and the RG live at the BBC double CD is Magic Rory in is prime & would be brilliant to see the footage on BBC 4

The greatest guitarist to come from these Isles, the BBC has some great footage of Rory, why not air it and let the world see and hear this genius musician.
