I saw Rory two times and was absolutely amazed with his plaing. He came out in between 2 major groups, I had never heard of him, he played the guitar so good, sang, played the harmonica, sang one incredible song after another. I will never forget my thrill and amazement at this man's abilities !

Rory was unique, unquestionably the most talented guitarist the world has ever seen.......but was unspoiled by fame, never lost his roots, unequalled when live

Rory never craved fame
He toured continuously and tirelessly
He would not make singles so to get his message across he used the airwaves of the BBC with countless sessions and appearances on the old grey whistle test
The BBC honouring him in the 20th year of his passing would be very very fitting to increase awareness of his musical ability
He still acquires new fans and I believe people who have never heard of him or his music may just get connected via the BBC

Truly a 'great.' Not only was Rory one of the best guitarists around, he was such an unassuming performer,, shunning all the trappings of the glitzy 'rockstar.' In these days of lip-synching and auto-tuned musicians hogging the headlines, it would be an education for some and a celebration for others if a few hours could be devoted to the life and music of Rory Gallagher, on or around the 20th anniversary of his death on 14th June.
