I understand that as a Realtor, my clients’ well-being is intimately connected with the well-being of the communities I serve.
During this coronavirus crisis, public health experts have determined that the well-being of the communities I serve depends on:
- my compliance with local (Alameda County, Contra Costa County, City and County of San Francisco, San Mateo County, Santa Clara County, Marin County) and state orders to stay at home, and
- other practices designed to minimize transmission of the disease.
I understand that the stay-at-home orders, which have the force of law, contain certain exceptions for “essential” services, and that the practice of real estate outside my home is not one of these exceptions.
I also understand that I am bound by the Realtor Code of Ethics to comply with the law in my professional practice under all circumstances.
Therefore, I pledge to comply with local and state orders to stay at home.

I honestly did not think this would take off like it has when I first typed it out in my home office but the momentum is just wild to watch unfold. Reading through all the DRE numbers and seeing that professionals actually take this seriously feels good because I was worried I was shouting into the void here.

This is no joke we all need to unite to beat this pandemic. A lot of people will die. Let’s be the answer not the problem.
My family and I are Sheltering-In-Place since March 13th as we are very much aware of the devastating consequences of not doing so would bring to us all. Maintaining social distance, avoiding crowds, and staying healthy is a small contribution to our community, state and country.
I have never been to war. I have never been asked to defend life and liberty. Very little has ever happened in my life that's required sacrifice for family, community or country. To be asked to limit my freedom so that it might lessen the number of horrific deaths we see rising around us is such a small sacrifice. If by signing this petition, only a single death can be averted, I will happily do so.
Some MLS listings still have showing instructions. If no lockboxes were allowed at this time, it would help with that.
Please adhere to this! It’s our best chance. I have a doctor son in the front lines in NY and he can’t believe the governor is being so unconcerned
Let us be remembered as part of the solution and not part of the problem.

Compliance isn’t a choice. It’s irritating to hear of so many not complying. Don’t give our industry a black eye and comply!
