This does not belong here. ..I live a few blocks away and worry about my children. Find a more appropriate place to put your toxic batteries.

I’m a homeowner in mount sinai for 30 years and I still pay taxes . My children were educated thru the school system and live in the area. I don’t want this near the school or across the street from the heritage park where my grandchildren play. I don’t want it near residential areas. I am against this . Stop ruining our little hamlet. Take it to a commercial area. I am NOT in favor of this ridiculous proposal.

I am writing to express my concerns regarding the proposed battery storage facility in our neighborhood at Mount Sinai. The introduction of such a facility raises several significant concerns that I believe warrant careful consideration before moving forward. First and foremost, the safety risks associated with battery storage cannot be overlooked. Instances of fires and chemical exposures at similar facilities across the country serve as a grim reminder of the potential dangers they can pose to nearby residential areas our schools and children. Furthermore, the environmental implications of introducing potentially hazardous substances into our community could have irreversible impacts on our local ecosystem. The operation of this facility would also likely lead to increased traffic and noise, disrupting the peace and tranquility that define our neighborhood. Additionally, the visual impact of such an industrial operation could severely detract from the aesthetic appeal of our community, potentially driving down property values and making our neighborhood less desirable. We urge you to consider these points and the overall lack of direct benefits to our community when making your decision. There are undoubtedly more suitable locations where the risks and impacts associated with such a facility would be significantly reduced.
Thank you for considering the viewpoints of our community as you deliberate on this matter.

There are plenty of industrial locations on the island that won't impact schools, parks and residential neighborhoods.

How come these risky industrial businesses can come into residential areas ? What kind of stupidity is this ?
Not only that, there are schools within a couple of hundred feet !
First of all, the town was supposed to reject this in the first place..

The developers of the Battery Storage Facility, Green Leaf, will provide a presentation tonight (Monday May 6th) at 8pm at the Mt. Sinai Civic Association meeting at 8pm. I'll be there! I personally believe that this type of structure should not be place at one of the most dangerous intersections in Suffolk County and without a substantial buffer zone.

I think the location is completely inappropriate as it is so close to many many houses! Our volunteer firefighters cannot be tasked with a fire of this proportion. It’s wrong for the corner of 25a and Coram Mount Sinai Road!

Make sure you thank Democrats for this!!!! Keep pushing ev cars which they claim are safer for the environment. Not the case… just being around this causes cancer. Maybe we should all rethink buying electric cars. Everyone is worried about these batteries being stored in our community. What happens when everyone is driving electric cars and we are completely surrounded by them… great idea! There will be no escaping being near the radiation and cancer is inevitable. People need to be upset not just in our community. Stop poisoning our environment with these batteries.

There are laws preventing this from being built in a residential neighborhood. We will litigate If necessary. We will find something to make this go away. Have no fear residents of mount sinai.
