The recent success of DC Comic's Batman 66' has made some wonder what other Batman TV or film properties could make the transition to comics, and if it were up to Joe Quinones, Batman 89 would be at the top of that list.

On his most recent blog, Joe posted some proof of concept sketches he created with Kate Leth for a pitch to DC for a Batman 89 comic that took place after the events of Batman Returns.

"We would have seen the return of Selina Kyle/ Catwoman as well as introductions to ‘Burton-verse’ versions of Robin, Barbara Gordon/Batgirl, Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy. It also would have showcased the turn of Billy Dee Williams’ Harvey Dent into Two-Face."

That last one you can see a glimpse of in the gallery. I would have loved to see what Billy Dee Williams could have done with the role, and lord knows Burton would have had a better take than the one we saw in Batman Forever. As for the comic version, the sketches show us an interesting take on Batgirl, and a more noirish look for Harley Quinn. Plus, it would have been great to see Pfeiffer's Catwoman back in action.

Sadly the project got passed over, but take a look at some of the art to see what could have been. WE CAN REVIVE THIS!!! THERE IS A CHANCE!
