The unit titled ‘Conservation Biology’ is set to be removed from the curriculum options for those studying Biology at the University of Bath. This module not only educates students of the importance of protecting the environment but also sets foundations for them to pursue a career in the conservation field itself. This is a very important vocation at a time where rate of extinction is 100s of times above the background rate and > 40% of all species evaluated by IUCN are threatened with extinction.
