We, residents and students of Stowe, request that the Select Board give serious consideration, in the planning for the new Jackson Arena athletic facility, to include space for a basketball court for year-round use. Currently, availability of gymnasium space for community basketball, and summer/weekend use is severely limited. 

We, students and community members, request that estimates be obtained for retractable seating (vs. fixed seats) so that a basketball court for use year round may be installed. If so designed, we feel this will not conflict with hockey or soccer (outside of games when the bleachers are in use), or add any additional square footage cost to this project. The approved bond is likely to be our last opportunity to construct an athletic facility in Stowe that serves the broadest community need.
