Fountain Hills is in the SUSD.
The neighborhood simply doesn't want a school there to take away their views. They've had many years to buy that parcel, but now want to stop a great idea from coming to fruition because of their own greed. I don't see these same neighbors protesting the new homes being built at that same intersection on the southwest corner.

Having Basis in Scottsdale Shea is an asset to city of Scottsddale. This will attract great talent and hardworking kids and parents to the community. Overall, this will be a win-win situation for all the parties involved. Mayor please approve the plan without beuracratic hurdles.

BASIS is an amazing school with hardworking and dedicated teachers, staff, and students. They've spent ages searching for somewhere that would work not only for BASIS, but also for the community. BASIS Scottsdale is the #1 school in Arizona and the #2 school in the United States. It performed better than most schools internationally on the PISA test (including some of the best schools in Shanghai). BASIS Scottsdale brings an enormous benefit to Scottsdale. It attracts the best and brightest students and makes Scottsdale known for more than golfing and retirees (not that there's anything wrong with those). If any school deserves a building that can adequately hold it's students, it should be BASIS Scottsdale. They aren't asking for anything crazy or exorbitant, they're asking for exactly what is necessary and even expected for a school to perform. How can they fully and effectively educate students about the sciences when teachers have to switch off rooms and carefully plan our schedules to even hope to get a lab room? How can BASIS foster the arts when the drama club has to drive to Phoenix to hold a show? How can BASIS grow its athletic team when the gym is overbooked and crowded? BASIS Scottsdale needs this building.

Scottsdale needs a good schooling system. Our school system ranks low in the state. Only way to improve is to get good schools in the neighborhood. Good schools attract good work force, which helps in overall competitiveness and availability of skilled workforce. City leaders need to act now to make this happen.

Scottsdale can only improve from the addition of this school. Scottadale would only benefit to the addition of a top performing school and investing in its children then caving to a few neighbors that don't want to deal with increased traffic and using our children's safety as an excuse. We are Carib patents that protect our children and want the best for them. We drop them off at the door. We aren't driving by at 50 mph and pushing them out of the car door. The idea of this school being dangerous to our children is ridiculous and I would hope educated adults would realize this.
