I am a Family Physician and a medical director for 4C Medical Group, a large Scottsdale medical group. We have been involved in helping BASIS students with their senior research projects, and we have employed BASIS graduates after they have graduated from college. BASIS is an integral part of the Scottsdale community, and the demand for their nationally top-ranked education is extremely high in Scottsdale. I have several physician friends whose children have been on the wait list. As a parent of three Basis students (12th grade, 8th grade, and 3rd grade), I have had a great experience with the 5th-12th campus for the past 8 years and the primary school (which happens to be just a few blocks away from my office on Scottsdale Rd.) for the past year. The school has been amazing and effective in quickly responding to any community concerns regarding safety and traffic. BASIS has heard the concerns of the neighborhood for the new school location and resolved any issues, going above and beyond what was requested. We urge the City Council to approve plans for the new building without any unnecessary delays. Keep BASIS in Scottsdale.

For the Scottsdale city council, we specifically moved to Scottsdale last year to try to get into Basis Scottsdale. My children have and are currently attending a Basis school, but we still moved ---the main reason to be able to attend Basis Scottsdale.
We have applied 8 times and have been wait listed all 8 times, so please allow the construction to proceed to allow all wait listed children who want to be a Basis Scottsdale Student gain admissions.
