We are signing this petition to show opposition for the proposed development of an Apartment Complex located on 231 Hwy 211 NW and McNeal Rd.
We strongly oppose and believe the addition of Apartments will add no value to our surrounding communities. We oppose high density housing in our area and want to prevent the negative consequences an impact like this will have: it will increase traffic, lower our property values by setting a precedent for High Density housing, increase crime, and overpopulate our school cluster.

I spent the entire morning staring at maps of the intersection and honestly the traffic plan they proposed makes zero sense given how many cars are already backed up during the morning rush. The silence from the planning office is pretty frustrating but I am still working on getting a meeting set up so they actually have to look at these names.

I really thought this might just float around in the void but seeing it pick up this much traction is actually kind of wild. It makes me feel a lot better knowing so many neighbors are worried about the traffic and the schools just like I am.

I work for DDS in a building on McNeal road across from this site and I have problems getting on McNeal sometimes because of the traffic. The traffic light at 211 and McNeal is useless for people getting off McNeal Rd. Dot needs to come back and straighten that like 5 minute light out
In my opinion this will put school kids at risk with increased traffic,more crime, etc. With all the traffic on McNeal now ,it is hard to get onto McNeal from our street. And McNeal is already a race strip. Pick another less congested area, for example end of City Pond Road and Rockwell church road. Big open area. Or anywhere else away from this congested area!
This is crazy. We should start a petition to fire the county commissioners that vote to approve this garbage. They're supposed to work in OUR best interest!

After 45 years in Winder, I have had enough of this. The only growth to this town is low rent or section 8. The world is growing around Winder. We are being left behind. We are pushing to out slum Dekalb county.
I live on mears Street my property backs up to this area I have lived here for 50 years I do not want to look at my back door and see another hood in 10 years we already have the Holly Hill Apartments the townhomes behind them and another set of apartments over there off of Mc Neal road. We cannot get out on Highway 211 from our street don’t forget y’all are building another set of townhomes right up the road less than a fourth of a mile from mears st.I was out today and I found out a perfect spot to build your apartments I don’t you building behind tractor supply that way people can even get to Walmart they don’t even have to have a car if this goes through to let you know I will be building a 20 foot steel fence on my property I will also check with my neighbors and see can’t they build the same fence so they will have something real nice to look at

As a property owner I feel this would lower the value of my property plus it’s goin to create more of a nightmare by adding to the traffic problems that all ready exist on highway 211 already. Lastly. I don’t want the crime that comes along with this type of development and the schools are already overcrowded and this just isn’t acceptable.
