Outlaw Vivisection in the UK
Inside British laboratories animals are burnt, poisoned, gassed, electrocuted and starved as part of crude and pointless experiments. Primates, dogs, cats, rodents and even horses are subject to procedures which inflict great suffering and torment. Legislation such as the Animal (Scientific Procedures) Act and Good Laboratory Practice guidelines fail to protect animals inside research facilities, with cruelty inflicted upon these creatures as a routine practice. An increasing amount of scientists, doctors and veterinarians are calling for a move towards the alternative methods of testing which do not involve the use of animals in research. Vivisection is unreliable, with an estimated 10,000 patients referred to hospital per annum as a result of adverse reactions to products developed in the animal model. We,the undersigned, agree with the above statements and demand the UK Government abolish experimentation involving animals.
