Banning Monopoly of the Media

Recently Gina Rhinehart bought a massive stake in Fairfax Media. As a result, readers of the Sydney Morning Herald and the Age will never be able to know if their information is tainted by the bias of massive mining corporations or the personal interests/gain of Ms Rhinehart. The government is unable to act because they too are at the mercy of the media, and being unpopular with two of the most circulated publications in NSW will spell the doom of any political party that attempts to ban media monopoly. So it is up to the people to lobby for unbiased media - as a cornerstone of democracy, it is our democratic duty to defend the free press, in the hope that it will always remain relatively 'free' from spin.
