This is a petition to ban the sale of 'legal highs' in so-called 'head shops' in Ireland.
Colm Hodkinson died in October 2005 as a direct result of consuming 'legal highs' which he purchased from a head shop in Dublin.
There have also been numerous other deaths in the UK which have been linked to the consumption of these substances. Please sign this petition if you would like to help us stop these shops selling potentially lethal 'legal' drugs to the young people of Ireland.
People think that because these substances are legal they are safe. This is definitely not the case.

I am currently compiling documentation on store locations and legislative gaps to present to the Department of Health. While we wait for a formal response to our initial inquiry, I am coordinating with legal counsel to draft a briefing regarding the dangers of these substances.

The growth of this petition has captured the attention of several national news outlets. I am currently coordinating interviews to ensure the risks of these substances remain at the center of the public debate.

Close the lot of them down before another family has to bury their son.
These places are a disgrace. My teenage cousin ended up in hospital after buying stuff there. Just because its legal doesnt mean it isnt poison.
Legal highs are just drugs in a different packet. No idea why the government let this go on for so long.
Its scary how easy it is for kids to get hold of this rubbish. They look like normal shops so people just assume its okay. Get them off our streets.
Poor Colm. My heart goes out to his family. We cant keep letting shops sell death to our kids.

SHUT THEM DOWN. WAY TOO MANY YOUNG LIVES RUINED ALREADY.
