Well fundraiser and apparent good egg SIRBOB is now urging people who bought his charity single to buy it, yet again, even if you already have the 1984 and 2004 versions. To quote SIRBOB "We need to sell 300% more than we did (of charity single "Do They Know It's Christmas") to even begin to make up the cash figure. That worries me ... Even if you already have it, delete, download again.”(http://www.theguardian.com/music/2014/nov/24/bob-geldof-do-they-know-its-christmas-charity-delete-and-download#start-of-comments)

Well Sirbob. That's a fab idea. I've deleted new version after buying it because it sounds dreadful, but I just felt 99p to fight this awful unfair illness was worth it. Can't even buy a 99 with flake for that price.

BUT I'VE COME UP WITH A BETTER IDEA DUDE.

I will happily download the record again IF you promise to record it again with new, better, artists. Nice huh. Bono, Ed Sheeran and his mates at OneDirection hardly need the extra publicity do they?

The cause is a great one. I agree with you - just calm down a bit. Ebola needs to be stopped, but so does this awful music from tax dodging pop stars.

Let's combine both good causes into one:

If you ask some credible artists such as Sweet Baboo, Liz Green, King Creosote, Patrick Duff, The Antlers, Angel Olsen, Slow Dive, Antony Hegarty, Sharon Van Etten, Mogwai, MBV etc...hey even ask Thom Yorke again so he can bring some of his mates from Four Tet, Jon Hopkins, Burial, Flea, and Nigel Godrich to produce an exciting dance version. YES FEW PEOPLE MAY HAVE HEARD OF THESE. That's a shame. This decent exciting music needs more publicity than the usual X-Factor stuff.

You may be thinking people won't buy a record with artists they don't know - hey there's lots of stuff we all don't know because we haven't had chance to be exposed or lucky enough to hear it, but that doesn't mean we wouldn't enjoy it given half a chance. SIRBOB keeps telling us he doesn't like Mondays, but we all have to put up with them.

I'll tell you what, I'll give £10 to British Red Cross, or £25 if you retweet Sirbob. I'll also download a different version by each of decent artists if they all get to sing song in its entirety...

Even if you can't get some of those artists (as I know Xmas is busy time), maybe we can just edit your existing tune and overdub Bono with someone half decent - hey I'll happily volunteer even though I'm tone-deaf as I can't be much worse. JUST NO MORE BONO PLEASE!

After all the greatest gift anyone can get this year is no more U2 forced on them...
